Biography: Andy Warhol was born as Andrew Warhola in 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvannia. He died in 1987 in New York City at the age of 58, from a heart attack following gall bladder surgery. Warhol studied commercial art at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, then moved to New York City in 1949, where he began a successful career as an illustrator. In the 1960s, Warhol began designing the images of Campbell's Soup, Coca Cola, Mickey Mouse, Marilyn Monroe, and other popular icons, which defined the Pop Art movement.
