Vintage Car Posters feature international car brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Bugatti, BMW, Citroen, Fiat, Renault, and other classic European car makes from the 1890's through 1950's. The first documented automobile, using a steam engine, was built in France in 1869, but none were put into regular production until Emile Roger in 1888 began producing automobiles using a gas-piston engine under license from Karl Benz. By and large, automobile manufacturing remained a craft with vehicles being produced one at a time much longer in Europe than in America, where Henry Ford's moving assemby line led to the mass-production of cars for the masses, rather than just for the elite. This gallery features fine art and giclee prints of vintage posters by Rene Vincent, Francisco Tamagno, Marcello Dudovich, Robert Falcucci, Roger Broders, George Ham, Ludwig Hohlwein, and other various vintage designers.
