Biography: Lucien Achille Mauzan was born in 1883 on the French Riviera, although at some point he dropped his first name and just went by Achille. He died in 1952. He studied art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, France. In 1905, he moved to Milan, Italy, and in 1926 he moved to Buenas Aires, Argentina, where he set up his own poster publishing house. He was strongly influenced by Leonetto Cappiello, designing in the Art Deco style. The vintage poster artist Gino Boccasile was his student.
