Walker Evans, American documentary photographer: Auto Parts Shop, Atlanta, Georgia, c.1936 Biography: Walker Evans is an American photographer who was born in 1903 in St. Louis, Missouri. He died in 1975 in New Haven, Connecticut. His best known work was done for the Farm Securities Administration during the Great Depression. Other well-known "documentary" photographers from the 1930s include Dorothea Lange and Margaret Bourke-White.
